Rachel Coad
A phenomenally gifted portrait artist, Rachel has been a winner or finalist for a multitude of awards – too many to list here. However, one notable win was the prestigious Black Swan prize for portraiture in 2016. Her work is often in sepia and muted tones and has a sense of movement and fluidity.
Leon Pericles
A fine artist who has been exhibiting nationally and internationally since 1969, Leon has had an incredible 150 solo exhibitions. His artistic talents span across multiple mediums, including printmaking, sculpture, painting, design and also kite making. You’ll notice of references to the Outback in his work; an ode to where he spent his childhood.
Alan Meyburgh
You may already be familiar with Alan’s work, even though you might not realise it. His sculptures are in many public areas throughout the South-West, including his life-size megafauna structures outside the ancient caves of Margaret River. He has also exhibited at Sculptures by the Sea in Cottesloe and Sculptures by the Bay in Dunsborough.
Rebecca Cool
Rebecca’s work is colourful and charming, so it should come as no surprise that she’s a children’s book artist and illustrator. Notable works include The House That Jack Built and Isabella’s Garden, published by Walker Books. She also produces and sells mixed media artwork on canvas.
Christian Fletcher
This celebrated South-West photographer has been highly sought after for many years. Capturing the subtle beauty of a landscape – whether a foreboding forest, a serene coastal scene, or just a cluster of leaves – his work is stunning and deserves the high praise and fame.
MRROS is a free event in multiple locations across the South-West region, from Busselton to Augusta. Every artist’s studio, workshop or exhibition area has been mapped out and available on the website link below, so you can plan out your art-filled days to perfection.
