Great Southern food and wine festival
Fresh, diverse, natural and exceptional. All are words to describe what you’ll find on the menu at this year’s annual Taste Great Southern food and wine festival.
The program runs for 18 days and involves 50 events (some free, some ticketed). The whole idea is to celebrate the amazing bounty that comes from a very special part of Western Australia’s south coast, from areas in and around Frankland River, Mt Barker, Porongurup, Denmark and Albany.
Celebrity chefs, special dinners, farmers markets and master-classes will put the spotlight on foods such as oysters and seafood, cereal crops, beef and sheep, vegetables and milk products, plus wine varieties such as shiraz, riesling and pinot noir.
Pictured is Dublin born chef and restaurateur Colin Fassnidge (who you may recognise as a judge from the My Kitchen Rules TV series), who will team up with chef and TV personality Anna Gare at the Rockcliffe Night Markets on the night of March 18th, 2016. This is just one of several free exciting events on the Taste Great Southern program.
