Gourmet grazing platters for your next holiday
What could be better than a warm sunny day, a scenic view in the great outdoors, and an incredible grazing platter of delectable food shared with those you love? Holiday perfection.
If you’re keen for a grazing board Down South, there are plenty of excellent options. There are two-person platters accompanied by a glass of wine at a winery, a takeaway hamper to be enjoyed in your holiday home, a pick-and-mix goodie box for a beach party, or even a full-scale affair with gorgeous boho styling and lavish extravagance for that extra special occasion.
Here are our favourites.
Events by the Bay
Imagine this: a calm aquamarine bay, soft picnic blanket, plush cushions, and lush table styling. Top off this idyllic scene with a grazing board uniquely catered for your group. Choose a breakfast board with croissants, sweet loaves, chia puddings, and seasonal fruit; or the savoury board with a selection of cheeses, dips, cured meats, and more. This is the perfect occasion for hens, baby showers, and proposals.
Merchant & Maker
The gourmet corner store and café in Dunsborough offers catering options for a takeaway feast. You can pick and mix from the savory and baked sweets, or you can choose one of their sumptuous hampers. We fancy the ‘Do it yourself breakfast delux’ complete with homemade seeded bread, fresh produce, eggs, cured meats, salted organic butter, muesli, and rich yoghurt. Brekkie Down South, coming up.
Swings & Roundabouts
Settle under the towering gum trees and let the kids skip away to the wooden play equipment. Select one of the set grazing boards, and enjoy great conversation over gourmet food in a beautiful setting. Indulge in honey-marinated figs, warm woodfired focaccia, and pickled veg.
Happs Wines
This family-owned winery is a beautiful leafy destination, full of flowers and rolling hills. No bookings necessary – just walk in, tuck a picnic rug under your arm, and build-your-own hamper with delicious fare from around the Margaret River region. Then top it off with a glass or two of award-winning Happs vino. Enjoy the moment!
Glenarty Road
This spectacular farm-to-plate eatery in Karridale was named Best Regional Restaurant in WA by the Good Food Guide, so you’re in for a treat. Designed for two people dining on premise, expect (mostly) house made and house grown seasonal produce: charcuterie, curd, local cheeses, fresh veg, and breads. A perfect picnic on tranquil farm grounds.
The Art of Grazing
Breakfast platters, grazing platters, and even grazing tables – the works! Start by choosing what meal you need it for, how many people to cover, and then add on any extras. For sweet tooths, check out the dessert box brimming with brownies, rocky road, delicate macarons, and strawberries. There’s also the option to add fresh flowers, wine/sparkling, or balloons to make it a special event.
Marq Wines
Relax on the verandah and soak up the scene across the rows of vines, as you sample the wine made by respected winemaker Mark Warren. Feeling peckish? It’s time for a cheese or charcuterie platter with a bottle of Marq wine that you’ve recently decided is your new favourite.
Domaine Naturaliste
Enjoy this unique cellar door, nestled in between the mesmerising merlot vines, indulge in a wine flight and grazing experience at Bruce Dukes’ Wilyabrup winery. Over the course of an hour, you can sample red and white wines and savour either a charcuterie or cheese board. Delish.
We’re all about sharing platters, grazing boards, and picnic hampers. It makes for a perfect afternoon in the sunshine in the Margaret River region. Browse our portfolio of luxury holiday homes.
